Description:

The Island Bridge (Salu tilts) over Daugava and Little Daugava rivers in Riga was constructed during the period from 1968 to 1976, and it consists of several structures – two large and two small bridges, seven access bridges and two pedestrian and cyclist tunnels. Since its opening in 1976 the bridge has not had major renovations despite the fact that it is one of the most important traffic routes in Riga.

Within the framework of the Island Bridge reconstruction project we performed electrical works under the assignment of the client LNK Industries, constructing the lighting network of “Rīgas Gaisma”, lighting and power network of “Rīgas Tilti” and arranging the cable tunnel of “Sadales Tīkls”, as well as constructing the electrical external lighting networks.  We performed the works in a relatively short time period, completing the project by the end of 2015.  We are proud to have had the opportunity to work at the Island Bridge reconstruction project – one of the most important infrastructure development projects in Riga. In general the ambitious renovation project include demolition of the driveway of the large and the small bridge over Daugava, dismantling of the existing barriers, gutters, walkways and railings, renovation of hydroinsulation and asphalt pavement, as well as improvement of the pedestrian and cyclist area located at the lower level of the bridge and other works.
